Me

How can I describe myself when I don’t know who I am? It’s become less clear as I grow older.

When I was 8, I was the best arm wrestler, the smartest kid in class, the most daring tree climber, the girl with all of the answers, or at least all of the questions. I was fearless.

When I was 12, I was the fastest runner in my class, the kid with the best tan, the girl with the big dogs, the spelling bee champion, the artist.

When I was 18, I was the outstanding English student, the FFA chapter officer, the color guard captain, the writer.

When I was 21, I was the non-drinker, the data entry operator, the cousin, the babysitter.

When I was 30, I was the cat-owner, the daughter, the assistant.

Now I am 40, and I am tired of becoming less. I want to relearn how to run, to dare, to question, to not be afraid.

  1. Hi there!
I just saw some of your pictures for the Summer stash quilt challenge and I really like them! I’m looking foward to see the quilt done!
Then I also saw the pictures of Janesville…How sad…I lived in Whitewater 1980/81 as a exchange student and I went many times to Janesville to visit another student, Katrin, and we loved to go to the Mall. I have so many good memories! The world is really small!
Hope you are having a nice summer!
    Suzie
